Farah Alimi, born in 1989 in Damascus, Syria, is a Paris-based artist who previously lived in New York before relocating to France in 2018. Her art draws deeply from the memories of her birthplace, a city she left at a young age, offering a poignant reflection on healing, resistance, and the vibrant culture of the Levant.
Farah’s creative journey began with painting, using heavy-body acrylics to explore themes inspired by other Syrian cities and the Middle East. Her work often delves into her personal connections to food, daily life, and the people of these regions, capturing moments of intimacy and shared humanity.
